Dear visitor,

We would like to point out that an operation always involves risks. Every body is different and reacts differently. Of course we try our best to avoid complications.

Of course, the preparation and aftercare in your home country are also important for an optimal result. Of course, we will also advise you after the procedure and take care of you.

Here you will find some preparations and also the risks for your upcoming operation.

And please don't forget that surgerythe last wayshould be when no other measures are possible.

PREPARATION NOSE CORRECTION
  • The function of the nose must under no circumstances be restricted by the aesthetic nose correction. Therefore, a thorough preliminary examination by an ENT doctor is essential. Apart from that, your treating aesthetic surgeon should have in-depth knowledge of ENT medicine.

  •

  • Before the nose correction, it should be clarified whether and which nasal breathing difficulties are present. Previous injuries to the nose or impairments to the nasal mucosa and sinuses are also important.

  • Before your rhinoplasty, your breathing function will also be checked.

  • If your nasal mucosa is very sensitive, your doctor will likely prescribe moisturizing nasal ointments or oily nasal drops to use for about two to three weeks before surgery.

  • About two weeks before the rhinoplasty, you should stop taking blood-thinning drugs such as aspirin, other flu or painkillers, and alcohol.

  • After the procedure, you will wear a cast or special bandage for seven to 14 days. We recommend that you take a holiday during this period so that you can rest easy.

  • Please note that you will not be able to wear glasses for the time being after the rhinoplasty. If necessary, get contact lenses.

POST-OPERATIONAL

Depending on the type of operation, a nose correction takes one to two hours and is performed under general anesthesia. In the case of a hospital stay, you stay a maximum of one night if everything went well.

  • In the first 24 hours after the rhinoplasty you should take it easy and not do any strenuous activities.

  • You should refrain from taking blood-thinning medication, as described above, for a further two weeks after the nose operation.

  • Continuously cool the operated areas.

  • To reduce swelling or tightness, you can try sleeping with your upper body slightly elevated.

  • On average, you wear the cast or adhesive bandage for about eight days.

  • Avoid strenuous physical exertion through sports or heavy lifting for six to eight weeks after the rhinoplasty, and take special care to protect your nose from bumps during this time.

  • Wait between three and six months before putting yourself in direct sun again, going to the solarium or sauna. In general, heat is not particularly healing.

  • After rhinoplasty, it takes about a year for the nose to heal completely. However, up to 90 percent of the final result is already achieved after around six weeks.

The greatest risks in the operations are wound healing disorders, thrombosis, resulting pulmonary embolism and necrosis if the healing process is disturbed. Please be sure to follow the instructions of the doctor and your supervisor!!
