Implant removal
Implant removal is a safe procedure performed for both medical and aesthetic reasons. With individualized planning, careful preparation, a precise procedure, and consistent aftercare, the breasts can regain a natural shape, and the patient's well-being can be sustainably improved.
Are you no longer comfortable with your breast implants, or are there medical reasons such as inflammation or capsular contracture? Implant removal can restore your breasts to a beautiful, well-proportioned shape, completely without silicone. Modern methods such as breast lifts or breast augmentation with autologous fat transfer can achieve aesthetic and natural results. Specialist surgeons with experience in aesthetic breast surgery ensure that your health and beauty are the top priority.
Implant removal is performed for various reasons:
The implant is too large or the skin is sagging due to the natural aging process.
Medical necessity, e.g. capsular fibrosis, inflammation or hardening.
The implant quality is questionable or poses a health risk.
Other breast diseases.
Aesthetic perception or discomfort with the body.
Changes in breast shape after pregnancy
In many cases, implant removal is combined with a breast lift to stabilize the breast shape and achieve a harmonious result.

Consultation
Before implant removal, a detailed consultation takes place with an experienced specialist in breast surgery. During this consultation, the reasons for the procedure, the current condition of the implants, the shape of the breasts, and the patient's wishes are discussed. The doctor explains the various implant removal options, potential risks and complications, as well as options for a simultaneous breast lift to optimize the aesthetic result. Together, an individualized treatment plan is developed.
Preparation and procedure
Before the procedure, medical examinations are performed, including blood tests, ultrasound or MRI of the breast, and a physical examination. The patient receives clear instructions: abstaining from nicotine and alcohol, adjusting medications, and dietary advice. Careful preparation minimizes the risk of complications and contributes to a safe procedure.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia and usually lasts one to two hours, depending on the extent of the operation and the type of implants.
Implant removal: The implants are removed via existing scars or new access points.
Breast lift (optional): To achieve a harmonious and aesthetic result, excess skin can be removed and the breasts lifted at the same time.
Breast shape control: The doctor ensures that the breast retains a natural shape and appears symmetrical after the implants are removed.
After the operation
After implant removal, the patient remains in the clinic for monitoring. A special support bra is worn for several weeks to stabilize the breasts and promote healing. Pain, swelling, or bruising are normal in the first few days and can be treated with medication. Regular follow-up appointments ensure proper healing and a good aesthetic result. Physical exertion should be reduced during the first few weeks.
