Dear visitor,
We would like to point out that an operation always involves risks. Every body is different and reacts differently. Of course we try our best to avoid complications.
Of course, the preparation and aftercare in your home country are also important for an optimal result. Of course, we will also advise you after the procedure and take care of you.
Here you will find some preparations and also the risks for your upcoming operation.
And please don't forget that surgerythe last wayshould be when no other measures are possible.
PREPARATION BREAST AUGMENTATION
Here we list the most important ones again:
-
If you are taking anticoagulant medication for medical reasons, these must be replaced with heparin injections about two weeks before the breast augmentation.
-
In contrast, various flu or painkillers as well as alcohol have a blood-thinning effect. Make sure that you also stop taking these drugs at least two weeks before your appointment.
-
Smoking reduces blood flow to tissues, which can impair the healing process. Avoid nicotine at least two weeks before the appointment and for about four weeks afterwards.
-
Remember not to eat after 10 p.m. the day before breast augmentation.
-
On the day of the surgery, take a shower and wash your hair. We also recommend shaving the armpits regardless of the surgical method used.
-
Avoid body lotion. The pen markings for breast augmentation do not stick so well to the fat it contains.
-
Wear loose clothing and avoid contact lenses that day.
Organization of transport, housekeeping and child care
The breast augmentation will restrict your movement - so make sure someone is there for you for the first two days after the operation if necessary.
You will not be able to tease small children. Make sure you get the care you need here, too. Think of things that can make everyday life easier for you after the operation – such as food that can be prepared quickly, comfortable clothing, free time without appointments, etc.
POST-OPERATIONAL
Be prepared for swelling and feelings of tension after the operation. These can sometimes last for several weeks, which is why you usually only see the final result at the end of this time after your breast augmentation. Aftercare consists primarily of gentle and supportive measures. Here are our hints:
-
If you have wound drains, they will usually be removed the next day or within four days after the breast augmentation.
-
First, sterile and soft bandages are placed over your breast until the stitches are removed about 10 to 14 days after the operation.
-
After the stitches are removed, you can shower or bathe normally again.
-
For the first few days to weeks, sleep on your back and, if possible, with your upper body slightly elevated. This will prevent swelling and bruising.
-
Depending on your individual risk, you will receive thrombosis prophylaxis in the first few days after the breast augmentation.
-
The compression bra will be your constant companion day and night for four to six weeks.
-
We then advise you to wear the compression bra for another two to three weeks during the day. You can take it off at night.
-
Take it easy in the first few weeks after your breast augmentation and avoid lifting heavy loads.
-
Don't extend your arms over your shoulders, this could cause pain and tension.
-
You can start exercising again about six weeks after breast augmentation.
-
Please be patient if you experience localized numbness, which is common in the nipples. The sensation usually returns within the first few months after breast augmentation.
-
Avoid exposing your skin to UV rays from the sun or solarium until your scars are no longer red. Otherwise they may turn dark. Protect yourself with opaque clothing and/or a high sun protection factor.
The greatest risks in the operations are wound healing disorders, thrombosis, resulting pulmonary embolism and necrosis if the healing process is disturbed. Please be sure to follow the instructions of the doctor and your supervisor!!
