Dear visitor,

We would like to point out that an operation always involves risks. Every body is different and reacts differently. Of course we try our best to avoid complications.

Of course, the preparation and aftercare in your home country are also important for an optimal result. Of course, we will also advise you after the procedure and take care of you.

Here you will find some preparations and also the risks for your upcoming operation.

And please don't forget that surgerythe last wayshould be when no other measures are possible.

PREPARATION FACELIFT

In the preliminary talk before the facelift, you usually discuss everything important with your doctor. This primarily includes your medical history and what medication you are taking. As a reminder and as a checklist, we are listing some important information here.

  • Talk to your doctor if you are currently taking anticoagulant medication. You should be prescribed replacement medication about two weeks before your facelift.

  • In order to avoid post-bleeding, please do not take any pain or fever-reducing medicines or blood-thinning medicines. This includes aspirin, other flu or pain medications, and alcohol.

  • Promote blood circulation in your face! Contrast showers from four weeks before the facelift and skin massages are suitable for this – also refrain from cigarettes.

  • If your facelift is performed under general anesthesia, you should not eat anything after 10 p.m. the night before the procedure.

  • Clean your face thoroughly the morning before the operation, but do not use creams or make-up afterwards.

  • Since you have to rest for two weeks after the operation and the after-effects of the operation in the facial area are clearly visible (such as scars, swelling or bruising), you should take time off for this period.

POST-OPERATIONAL

Your face is one of the most sensitive areas of your body. A facelift is accompanied by swelling, slight bruising and pain - unfortunately this cannot be avoided entirely. Take it easy and you'll feel a lot better in just a few days. What else you should pay attention to:

  • You will probably be on bed rest for about a day immediately after the operation

  • You will be prescribed medication for the pain, cooling with ice will also reduce feelings of tension.

  • You should continue to refrain from smoking or alcohol in the first month after the facelift.

  • Your doctor will give you instructions on how to clean your wounds, but always be careful when doing this – only dab instead of rubbing or wiping.

  • After about 10 days you can usually wear make-up again and wash normally.

  • Drink plenty of fluids and eat a high-protein diet.

  • If you have been given a face corset, wear it consistently.

  • Avoid heavy physical exertion to avoid bleeding. However, light bleeding is normal for the first few days.

  • You should start exercising no earlier than two weeks after your facelift.

  • Use a high sun protection factor for your facial skin – it is better to avoid the sun and also the solarium.

The greatest risks in the operations are wound healing disorders, thrombosis, resulting pulmonary embolism and necrosis if the healing process is disturbed. Please be sure to follow the instructions of the doctor and your supervisor!!
