Dear visitor,
We would like to point out that an operation always involves risks. Every body is different and reacts differently. Of course we try our best to avoid complications.
Of course, the preparation and aftercare in your home country are also important for an optimal result. Of course, we will also advise you after the procedure and take care of you.
Here you will find some preparations and also the risks for your upcoming operation.
And please don't forget that surgerythe last wayshould be when no other measures are possible.
PREPARATION EYELID LIFT
An eyelid lift will not throw you off track for too long. The operation itself takes only one to one and a half hours. Further information that supports the healing process in advance can be found below:
-
Before the eyelid surgery and for some time afterwards, any necessary anticoagulants are replaced by substitute medication such as heparin injections.
-
Please do not take any blood thinners, such as aspirin, other flu or painkillers, or alcohol. Also, avoid nicotine.
-
If you are going to be put under general anesthesia for your eyelid lift, you should not eat anything after 10 p.m. the night before the procedure.
-
In the morning before the operation, you should refrain from using creams or make-up after carefully cleaning your face.
-
For about seven days after the eyelid lift, you may not be socially acceptable due to the optical traces. We recommend that you take a holiday in advance for this period.
POST-OPERATIONAL
You should be fit again relatively quickly after the operation. Nevertheless, conscientious aftercare and care of your eye area is important for the healing process. Please note the following information:
-
To avoid swelling and bruising, you should cool your eye area regularly - cooling pads or cooling ointments are well suited for this.
-
You should avoid soap, cream or make-up around your eyes for the first 10 days.
-
After the 10 days, you can cover any remaining traces of the operation with make-up.
-
You should start exercising no earlier than three weeks after your eyelid lift.
-
Avoid heavy physical exertion in the first few weeks and do not sunbathe or use the solarium.
-
You will notice that darker rooms are much more pleasant than lots of light.
-
First of all, avoid contact lenses and wear your glasses instead.
The greatest risks in the operations are wound healing disorders, thrombosis, resulting pulmonary embolism and necrosis if the healing process is disturbed. Please be sure to follow the instructions of the doctor and your supervisor!!
